A flock of 16 Canada geese (Branta canadensis) fly south past the sun as they begin their migration to warmer climates for the winter. During migration, Canada geese often fly in a distinctive V-shaped flight formation, at a usual altitude of 1 km (3,000 feet). The maximum flight ceiling of Canada geese is unknown, but they have been reported at 9 km (29,000 feet).
