Wilderness Portraits by LP Aiello is a celebration of the beauty of Nature that surrounds us all. With an adventurous spirit, patience and a bit of good fortune, the world can reward our lives with fleeting moments of breathtaking splendor, tranquil elegance or inspirational majesty.

Wilderness Portraits hopes to share these remarkable moments as experienced by an avid outdoorsman, sailor, scuba diver, mountaineer, flyfisherman, and former wilderness guide with a passion for photography.

These images have been aquired using a wide range of Nikon cameras over the years starting with a Nikkormat FTN. Current equipment includes the Nikon D700 camera body, AF-S Nikkor 17-35mm f/2.8D ED, AF VR-Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED, AF Micro Nikkor 200mm f/4D ED, AF-S Nikkor 14-24mm f/2.8G ED, Nikon Speedlight SB-800, Moose Circular Polarizing Filters, Lexar Professional UDMA 300x and SanDisk Extreme III 8.0 GB Compact Flash, Manfrotto 3443 Carbon Graphite Tripod, and Really Right Stuff BH-40 Ballhead with B2-40 LR clamp and camera L plate.

Unless specifically noted otherwise, images are derived from a single exposure and adjusted for color balance, contrast, noise, cropping, dust/distraction removal and sharpening. The digital darkroom incorporates dual quad core Intel Xeon CPUs running at 2.00 GHz, 4 GB memory, EIZO ColorEdge CG221 monitor, secondary high resolution monitor, Wacom CINTIQ 21UX interactive pen display, dual Sonnet 5TB RAID 5 disk arrays and high speed FIOS fiber internet connection.
